The water

This is a wood-fired sento (one 2026 reviewer was told the owner's son brings the firewood), not a hot spring. The water is notoriously hot: at least six reviewers describe it as hot to very hot, one calling the temperature 'for advanced users' and another saying the tap hot water was too hot to use undiluted. The tubs are sometimes medicated (yakuyu): one reviewer says both tubs were fragrant yakuyu, one was told the brown water was yakuyu, one says it depends on the day, and one saw bright red water.

Cleanliness is disputed: five reviewers say the aged facility is nonetheless well-cleaned and managed, while three others report heavy grime or find it too dirty (one 2026 reviewer: 'honestly too filthy'), and one splits the difference — 'shabby with bad staining, but by no means unclean'. Expect a very old, worn Showa-era building either way.

No sauna, no cold plunge, and no showers: one reviewer (2026) states explicitly there is no shower, cold bath, or sauna, and at least five other reviewers independently confirm there are no showers (bathers rinse with wash bowls from hot/cold taps).
