What visitors add

The water
This is a sento (public bathhouse), not a hot-spring: the water is wood-fired per 2 reviewers (one saw large piles of firewood out back, another states firewood heating makes the water feel mellow). The water is famously HOT: 13 reviewers across 2019-2026 describe it as hot to extremely hot; two estimate the hot tub at about 45-46C, and one compares it to hotter-than-Kusatsu heat. 4 reviewers report unusually long-lasting warmth after bathing, one comparing the effect to quality onsen.

Towels, soap & lockers
One reviewer (Oct 2020) reports 10 washing-station taps but only 6 with showers, closely spaced; another confirms showers exist with decent flow. Lockers exist in the changing room per one reviewer (who notes regulars' bottles stored dustily on top of them). Drinks are sold, per 3 reviewers. One reviewer notes an air-conditioned changing room in summer; another mentions the geta (shoe) shelf is inside the changing room.

Price
Admission was 400 yen per 3 reviewers (2020-2023); one reviewer (Sep 2024) states 450 yen, suggesting a price rise. One reviewer (Jul 2026) notes Kiryu city issues free bathing tickets to single-living residents aged 65+. Hair dryer use costs an extra 20 yen per one reviewer.

The water
There are two small tubs, per 5 reviewers: the right-hand tub is deep and very hot; the left-hand tub is milder and fitted with jets (described variously as a jet bath / jacuzzi / ultrasonic bath). One reviewer warns that regulars come for the heat and may get angry if you add cold water to the hot tub.

Staffing
Staffed in the traditional bandai (attendant-perch) style, per one reviewer; 2 other reviewers praise the owner as kind and attentive (one describes him fetching milk from the fridge for a customer). One reviewer (Aug 2022) found nobody at the bandai when entering and was unsure what to do.
stated by 4 visitors · Aug 2022 – Aug 2024
Day-use visits
Closed on days of the month containing 8 (the 8th, 18th and 28th), per 2 reviewers (May and Aug 2026). Caution: one earlier reviewer (Oct 2022) travelled far, found it closed on a day it should have been open, and complains the actual schedule is irregular.
