What visitors add
Day-use visits
This is a locked communal bath (kyodo-yu) for locals and staying guests only, not a walk-in day-use facility: 6 of 6 reviewers describe it as locals-only/community bath, and 4 of them entered by borrowing the entrance key from their ryokan (one names Yumotokan). No hours are posted in reviews.
stated by 6 visitors · Dec 2022 – Jul 2026The water
The bath is hot: 4 distinct reviewers call it hot, one giving a source temperature of 63C and tub temperature of 43-44C; one describes sweat pouring out after only 5 minutes, yet found the water gentle on the skin and clear. One reviewer (2023) says the water is drinkable and reputedly good for diabetes and high blood pressure (hearsay).
stated by 5 visitors · Feb 2023 – Jul 2026Water handling
One reviewer (March 2026) states it is kakenagashi with no added water and no heating; another (October 2025) says the water comes straight from the tank in front of the building and had to be diluted a little to get in.
stated by 2 visitors · Oct 2025 – Mar 2026Towels, soap & lockers
Bring everything: nothing is provided — one reviewer notes you must bring all shampoo and soap and that there is a single tap (karan); another confirms there is no shower. The changing room fits only about 2 adults and the tub is roughly 2-2.5 tatami; the door is auto-locking, so forgotten items are a problem (one reviewer each).
stated by 2 visitors · Mar 2026 – Jul 2026Staffing
The bath is unmanned: entry is by borrowed key, payment is an honor-system donation box, and one weekday-afternoon visitor had the bath entirely to themselves.
