The outdoor bath is distinctly lukewarm — around body temperature: one reviewer estimates about 38 degrees C, two call it fukanyu (neutral-temperature bath), and at least seven more describe it as tepid/cool. Opinions split: several enjoy it for long soaks and summer bathing, while two reviewers consider it too cold (one, in December, called it 'almost water'). Winter visitors advise warming up in the indoor bath.
